I was recalling an initiative that took place when I was on the Board of Directors and which has grown into a kind of institution… In the fall of 1984, I introduced the concept of the ‘Concours d’art oratoire’ for Ontario. I enlisted the support and collaboration of CPF Ontario. The Board of Directors and Diane, the president endorsed this project. I organized the first concours in 1985 in Ottawa with the participation of Toronto and Ottawa area Boards.
The close collaboration between OMLTA and CPF has resulted in a success story for FSL education in Ontario. The concours has grown over the years and has become an annual event. It encompasses a research and writing process at the classroom level across the province and culminates in a National festival in Ottawa. Vive le concours OMLTA-CPF!
